Lakshmi’s Surgery Was Successful

After 27 hours of operation and a team of 30 surgeons, Baby Lakshmi is in a stable and sound condition.
Doctors successfully removed Lakshmi's “parasitic” twin. Specialists in pediatrics, neurosurgery, orthopedics and plastic surgery took a total of 27 hours to remove her four additional limbs. The surgery which started yesterday “went through the night, with surgeons working 8-hour shifts.”
The procedure which has never been done in India was funded by the Narayana Health City Hospital.

Thinks he’s clever
A GERMAN network administrator has a cunning plan to get himself a job with the search engine outfit Google. Sebastian Klein has cyber-squatted at least eight Google-related internet domain names and, in a letter posted in 10 languages on each of the sites, demands a job in exchange for handing over ownership of them. According to Associated Press, Klein will not be bought off with a cleaner’s job either. He wants to be an internal auditor for security IT and must be allowed to travel to Cologne to visit his daughter every weekend. On the websites he said he, “would like to perform a lot and also be paid well.” And “quite clearly I am ready to put back with the money if for it the work is great fun.” But as he eloquently points out: “Creative minds write not a normal application, they will ensure that you will be attentive to them!” A spokesGoogle admitted that Klein’s approach is certainly novel, but advised him to email a CV via the company’s jobs board instead….

P2P throttling breaks FCC ‘net neutrality’ policy
CONSUMER groups and legal scholars have formally asked the US Federal Communications Commission to stop Comcast throttling file sharing. If the FCC takes notice, it will be the first real test of the watchdog’s ‘net neutrality’ policy. In the past, the FCC has said ISPs can’t block customers from Web sites or from using Internet-based applications. So far it has not enforced that policy. However hacks from Associated Press found that Comcast targeted BitTorrent and slowed down its ability to work. This left the company open to claims that it was shutting down users who wanted to download legitamate films and music….
